Arik Hesseldahl is an independent analyst and founder of Anchor Ventures, a boutique technology consulting firm based in New York. As a veteran technology journalist, Arik spent more than 20 years covering the digital transformation of the world economy for organizations including Bloomberg Businessweek and Forbes. He was a founding editor of the pioneering tech news site Recode, now part of Vox Media, and was a senior editor at its predecessor All Things Digital. He's written for The Wall Street Journal, and contributed to NBC News, CNBC and NPR.
David has been developing software, defining software architecture, and helping organizations align their strategy and technology for 38 years. David has held VP of Engineering, CTO, and consulting roles with a broad range of companies from startups to well-known non-profits to public companies including Twitter, Foursquare, Cisco, and Kiva. David is credited with inventing the real-time spreadsheet and has supplied high performance technology to financial services companies. He helped define the web application security testing category. David also popularized the Scala language by writing Beginning Scala (Apress) and founding the Lift web framework project as well as producing the first Scala-focused conferences. David has a dual degree in Psychology and Economics and a JD from Boston University.
